Job Title: Planner Buyer Agent

Type: Contract

Duration: 4–6 month contract

Compensation: $40.00/hour - $47.00/hour

Contractor Work Model: Hybrid - 2 days onsite (Wednesday mandatory; Tuesday or Thursday flexible)

Hours: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM

Job Overview:

System One is actively recruiting for a Planner Buyer Agent to support high-volume purchasing and procurement activities for a business unit operating in a project-based, industrial environment. This hybrid role focuses on purchase order execution, vendor coordination, and procurement support while working closely with planners, finance, accounts payable, and receiving teams. The ideal candidate brings hands-on purchasing experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage high-volume transactional work in an ERP-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

+ Support project deliverables by partnering with planners and buyers on procurement activities

+ Create, manage, and maintain purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner

+ Coordinate material and service procurement, fulfillment, and vendor communication

+ Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes; support basic negotiation activities

+ Maintain purchase order records, including updates, reporting, and reconciliation

+ Resolve blocked invoices, goods receipt issues, and discrepancies in coordination with AP and receiving teams

+ Monitor demand flow, inventory alignment, and purchasing transactions

+ Support surplus asset disposition, including coordination of asset sale and disposal activities

+ Execute daily work primarily within ERP systems, with heavy use of Excel and SharePoint

+ Support reporting, tracking, and process improvement initiatives

Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, Finance, or equivalent experience

+ 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience

+ Experience in planner/buyer, buyer, replenishment buyer, or similar roles

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP preferred) and Microsoft Office

+ ERP system experience (SAP preferred; others acceptable)

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams

+ Ability to prioritize workload and manage high-volume transactional work

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience working in industrial, project-based, or engineering-driven environments

+ SAP ECC experience

+ Exposure to supply chain planning, material forecasting, or project purchasing

+ Supply Chain or procurement-related certification (nice to have)

+ Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement experience
