• SQL Server DBA

    Cognizant (Addison, TX)


    Cognizant is seeking an SQL Server DBA for a full-time opportunity, working out of our client location in Addison, TX.

     

    Applicants must have valid US work authorization. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries to improve performance and application efficiency.

    • Performance tuning at database, query, and server levels to ensure optimal system responsiveness.

    • Data backup and restore operations, including regular maintenance, validation, and disaster recovery readiness.

    • Database migrations, upgrades, and environment refresh activities with minimal downtime.

    • Stored Procedure (SP) optimization and index recommendations to enhance query execution.

    • Implement and manage RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and ensure strong database security practices.

    • Develop, maintain, and tune SSIS packages and SQL batch jobs for high-performance data processing.

    • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) expertise to support data movement, transformation, and integration needs.

    • Data synchronization across environments to maintain consistency and reliability.

    Qualifications:

    • Seven plus years of proficiency with SQL.

    • Performance Tuning Proficiency.

    • Seven plus years of experience with Backup and Recovery.

    • Expertise with SSIS and SSRS.

    • Three plus years of experience with Azure Migration.
