Overview
+ The Emerging Technologies team is tasked with analyzing and building new supporting resources for new technologies and new methods that can enhance value of ENFRA’s matured solutions. The Emerging Technologies Intern will support this charge while furthering education and experience related to energy infrastructure for hospitals and university facilities.
Responsibilities
+ Creates a master checklist of expectations and goals to use as a guide throughout the internship and then used as an evaluation at completion.
+ Provide analytical support for program and project deliverables
+ Assists by collecting information/data, creating and updating spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
+ Vendor outreach. Support the team by identifying vendor options for technologies and gathering budgetary cost information and points of differentiation
+ Support the development and publication of knowledge-sharing tools, resources, and standards
+ Prepares reports and presentations as needed.
+ Project support
+ Help apply modeling tools to fast-moving development projects
+ Process Improvement
+ Identify opportunities for automation (e.g., weather data API, applications of AI-assisted programming).
+ Attends departmental meetings.
+ Performs tasks under the supervision of an departmental staff.
+ Participates in any learning experiences offered such as orientations, lunch & learns, outings, jobsite tours, safety inspections, etc.
+ Studies meeting notes, policies and procedures to learn the company way.
+ Attends the exit interview, providing feedback on the experience.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
+ Must be enrolled in an accredited university in Engineering or Business major with a Junior or Senior classification
+ Strong analytical skills with ability to translate date into insights and actions
+ Must have reliable transportation to work daily.
+ Ability to be punctual.
+ Must have a great attitude towards work and others.
+ Must be able to take initiative, provide quality work with a sense of urgency and reasonable productivity.
+ Must be able to work independently to complete tasks with daily supervision.
+ Must have respect for tools, equipment, supplies and be safety conscious.
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
+ Experience with Microsoft Excel, R, or python
+ Familiarity with 1) building energy systems, 2) utility rate tariffs, and 3) statistical analysis
+ Preferred educational focus with mechanical or electrical engineering, energy, construction management, data science, statistics, marketing, and/or finance.
Travel Requirements
+ 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
+ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
+ Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
+ Climbing stairs.
