    Job Description

    Oracle Health Data Services (OHDS) is seeking a Senior Director (M5) to lead a critical data platform organization responsible for transforming large-scale healthcare data into AI-ready semantic models and platforms. This role owns the strategy, execution, and operational excellence of a core OHDS data platform that ingests and processes high-volume, high-sensitivity data including EHR, clinical events, and financial data.

     

    The Senior Director leads an organization of 50+ engineers through managers and senior technical leaders, operates with broad autonomy, and influences technical and product direction across multiple Oracle Health organizations. The role partners closely with AI/Science teams, platform organizations, and application teams to drive AI adoption across the platform and embed AI-assisted productivity into engineering execution.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead, scale, and develop an engineering organization of 50+ engineers, including managers and senior technical leaders, with accountability for delivery, quality, and operational outcomes.

    • Define and execute the OHDS data platform strategy spanning ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, and AI consumption, with multi-year impact.

    • Drive adoption of AI-first and agent-based architectures, including MCP servers, to support AI-driven healthcare applications.

    • Partner with Oracle Health AI/Science teams to transition research and experimentation into production-grade platforms.

    • Establish direction for AI-assisted engineering practices, improving productivity, reliability, and engineering effectiveness at scale.

    • Ensure platform architectures and operations meet standards for scale, reliability, resilience, security, compliance, and cost efficiency in regulated healthcare environments.

    • Set and enforce operational mechanisms for availability, correctness, incident readiness, and regulatory compliance.

    • Influence technical and product decisions across organizations without direct authority, aligning teams around shared platform and AI goals.

    • Communicate platform strategy, risks, and outcomes to senior and executive leadership.

    • Build a strong leadership bench and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improveme

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

    • 12–15+ years of engineering experience, including leadership of managers and senior leaders.

    • Proven experience owning and scaling data platforms or large distributed systems with enterprise impact.

    • Strong understanding of AI and data platform fundamentals, including semantic modeling and AI-enabled architectures.

    • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational transformation and AI adoption across teams.

    • Experience operating in highly reliable, secure, or regulated environments.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with healthcare data platforms, including EHR, clinical, or financial data.

    • Exposure to agent-based systems, MCP servers, or AI platform technologies.

    • Experience partnering with applied science or research organizations.

    • Cloud platform experience (AWS / Azure / GCP / OCI preferred).

    US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,200 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

     

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

     

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
