Job Description

A leading concrete construction company is seeking a Traveling Equipment Mechanic to join their operations team. This is a full-time, direct placement opportunity with long-term growth potential and annual raise opportunities. The role is primarily field-based, requiring travel to multiple job sites to perform preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on equipment.

The mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a range of equipment, from small gas-powered generators to forklifts and water trucks. While some larger equipment may be present, the focus will be on mid-sized machinery preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, willing to travel, and looking for a long-term opportunity.

This position offers consistent overtime, a supportive team environment, and per diem along with a vehicle to travel to job sites.

Skills and Requirements

5–20 years of hands-on mechanic experience (compensation scales with experience)

Strong background in mechanical diagnostics and repair (not just oil changes—must have turned wrenches)

Comfortable working on a variety of equipment: pickup trucks, portable generators, scissor lifts, forklifts, extended boom forks, and water trucks

Can travel (drive) to job sites in the United States

Must have own tools (tool allowance provided) Ability to overhaul components and diagnose mechanical/electrical issues

Experience with rental companies like United Rentals, Sunstate, EquipmentShare, or Sunbelt

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Familiarity with DOT regulations

Electrical troubleshooting experience (especially with scissor lifts)

Experience with larger equipment like skid steers and excavators (even if not hands-on)
