    Job Description

    An employer is seeking a Market Application Engineer to join their power market operations team, focusing on the technical implementation and support of market applications from an IT systems perspective. This role combines engineering expertise with market operations knowledge to design, implement, and troubleshoot critical power market systems. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between power systems engineering and IT implementation, ensuring seamless transition of systems into production environments. He or she will design and implement market application systems for power grid operations and market functions, validate power system models and ensure compliance with industry protocols, analyze market and grid data and develop reporting and analytical tools.

     

    The Market Application Engineer with coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues so ability to communicate cross functionally is critical. This role is fully remote if outside of the Austin, TX area and hourly pay ranges from $60 - $70+/hr depending on experience and feedback from the client.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    3+ years of experience in power systems engineering or electrical grid operations such as MMS/EMS

     

    2+ years of experience with system implementation and production deployment processes

     

    Knowledge of working with SQL and Excel

     

    Experience with technical troubleshooting and problem-solving in mission-critical environments

     

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related engineering field required Experience with Python, PowerWorld, PSSE
