    Job Description

    A client of Insight Global is seeking an experienced OSP/Fiber Designer to join our Telecom Engineering team. This is a heads‑down, design‑focused role requiring someone who can step in with minimal training and immediately contribute to high‑quality fiber and OSP design work. You will support utility engineering projects across diverse fiber networks, focusing on splicing design, OSP layout, and accurate drafting using modern industry tools.

    Responsibilities include:

    Produce high‑accuracy OSP (Outside Plant) fiber designs, including fiber routing, splicing diagrams, and construction documents.

     

    Develop fiber splicing designs using platforms such as Vetro, 3GIS, IQGIO, or QGIS.

     

    Draft and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD for permitting, construction, and field installation.

     

    Interpret construction standards, OSP specifications, and engineering requirements to ensure compliant designs.

     

    Collaborate with internal engineering staff to support design revisions, updates, and project coordination.

     

    Maintain organized design files, version control, and documentation consistency across projects.

     

    Operate efficiently in a fast‑paced engineering environment with minimal oversight.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    1+ year of experience with fiber design/OSP design

    Experience with fiber splicing design using any of the following software:

    Vetro, 3GIS, IQGIO, QGIS

     

    Proficient in AutoCAD Design/Drafting Degree or certificate
