Summary:
The Marketing and Communication Officer develops marketing, communications, and public relations efforts to promote Idaho Commerce’s economic development programs, manages internal and external communication channels, produces marketing and promotional collateral for Idaho Commerce teams, manages public record requests, and serves as a liaison with the Governor’s Office and other State of Idaho agencies. This position reports to the Tourism and Marketing Administrator.
Responsibilities:
+ Manages and updates Idaho Commerce owned media channels, e.g.: websites, social media, and e-newsletters.
+ Produces collateral, e.g.: annual reports, one-sheets, and brochures.
+ Plans, manages, and evaluates Idaho Commerce’s public relations, marketing, and communication efforts in collaboration with internal teams and external partners/contractors.
+ Research, writes, edits, and issues news releases and public information materials.
+ Manages and responds to requests for public records and public information.
+ Initiates and maintains media contacts and coordinates publicity efforts for Idaho Commerce events and programs.
+ Coordinates media appearances for Idaho Commerce personnel.
+ Writes talking points and develops presentation materials for executive leadership.
+ Manages Crisis Communication Plan.
+ Maintains photo and video asset libraries.
+ Serves as steward of Idaho Commerce brand, ensuring consistent and effective use of brand guidelines and messaging tools
Minimum Qualifications (required)
Good knowledge of:
+ Overseeing contractors/vendors or supervising staff in producing publications.
+ Producing or editing information material using electronic word processing.
+ Planning, developing, and implementing major public information projects.
+ Developing, writing and producing informational material for mass distribution and specialized audiences.
+ Organization, structure, and ethics of electronic or print news media.
+ Audiovisual production, to include video productions, still photography, slide shows or computer-generated graphics related to public information objectives.
Experience:
+ Working with external contractors/vendors for integrated marketing and public relations activities.
+ Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to regularly produce marketing and communication materials and events.
+ Communicating with C-level executive stakeholders and executive leadership.
+ Regular use of Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office applications
+ Familiarity with generative AI applications and integration into the workplace
