Job Description Summary
An Electrical Instrumentation Design Engineer is responsible for the hardware design, manufacture, procurement, and application of instrumentation and integration of signal transmission hardware, electronics, and data acquisition systems in support of sensors and sensing systems measuring various engine parameters across GE Aerospace engines. This role conducts electrical circuit and system design, build and integration for application onto GE Aerospace engines, and includes test monitoring and reviewing / interpreting data. You will work with a broad horizontal team to define technology requirements and advancement improvements that support sensing test requirements.
Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:
+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
+ Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
+ Implement plans with guidance to meet technical requirements of assigned projects.
+ Develop action plans with guidance to respond to significant issues or developments.
+ Lead or participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives.
+ Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
+ Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Bachelor of Science in Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics:
+ 3 additional years of experience in Engineering position
+ Relevant experience or interest in multiple electrical/ computer engineering disciplines like signal processing, data acquisition, circuit design (analog and digital), microprocessors, radiofrequency (RF) design/ analysis, embedded electrical systems, and/or engine clearances.
+ An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
+ Demonstrated leadership in advancing technology in an electrical engineering specialty.
+ Experience using the engineering design process and experience conducting reviews with the Chief Engineer’s Office.
+ Experience using electronic circuit design and modeling tools including Ansys, Cadence, and/or Allegro for electrical simulation.
+ Lab experiences using design-of-test and troubleshooting tools such as network analyzers, impedance analyzers, and signal analyzers.
+ Familiarity with programming languages including C/C++ and Python.
+ Familiarity with using the Linux operating system.
+ Experience working with component suppliers and manufacturers.
+ Interest and ability to work in a laboratory centric engineering environment.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
+ Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
+ At least 5 additional years of experience in an electrical or computer engineering position.
