Job Summary
This position is an opportunity to work with a large global health infectious diseases research group on the transmission and epidemiological features of arboviruses, influenza, coronavirus, and other respiratory viruses and well as the Michigan Center for Infectious Disease Threats. The position offers opportunities for publication, interdisciplinary collaboration, interactions with students and postdoctoral fellows, and career development. Additionally, there are opportunities for travel to the field sites as well as to scientific conferences or network meetings.
Responsibilities*
+ Maintain study databases from multiple ongoing field studies of influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and arboviral diseases. Process, manage, clean, and analyze data from various study sites. Prepare manuscripts and reports. Coordinate with study sites to curate final datasets, accurately analyze results, and deposit into a data repository. Educate collaborators on the data repository and coordinate with collaborators on data issues or issues submitting to the data repository and Import.
+ Participate in submission of NIH bimonthly and annual reports, including study enrollment, tracking of manuscript submissions to PubMed Central.
+ Coordinate Travel Grant Program: Receive and evaluate applications to our program that provides trainees with financial support for travel to conferences and meetings. Obtain necessary approvals, send award letters, and arrange for reimbursement.
+ Coordinate Center Communications and Website: Maintain the Center's website, including updating content and regular reviews of faculty affiliates. Follow up on questions received through online website submissions. Produce and distribute a monthly newsletter highlighting center activities. Promote Center activities and faculty affiliates' work on social media channels.
+ Assist with compiling documents for funding proposals, including updating NIH biosketches/other support documents as well as obtaining the same updated documents for other investigators on proposals; Assist with maintaining and updating faculty curriculum vitae.
Required Qualifications*
For Intermediate level, Master's degree in public health, social science, or related field with 4-5 or more years of relevant research experience. For Associate level, Bachelor's required with 1-3 years of relevant research experience; Master's preferred. Experience in data management; experience with SAS or R. Report or manuscript writing experience. Demonstrated experience coordinating communication between staff in multiple locations.
Desired Qualifications*
Knowledge and skills working with research projects and laboratory data, including familiarity with quantitative research methods of data collection and analysis, preferred. Able and willing to travel to foreign and domestic research sites when needed.
Modes of Work
After an initial training and evaluation period, this position would be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with 3 days per week of on-site work.

Underfill Statement
The position may be underfilled at the Associate level depending on the selected candidate's qualifications. The salary range for the Associate level is $46,887 - 57,920, and the salary range for the Intermediate level is $56,652 - $69,982.
Additional Information
This is a one-year term-limited position, with the possibility of extension dependent on funding and performance.
