The Production Manager supports the successful execution of live NBA on NBC broadcasts by overseeing logistics, staffing, budgets, and on-site production operations. This role partners closely with production leadership, technical teams, and vendors to ensure seamless, high-quality live events in a fast-paced, travel-intensive environment. This role reports into the Senior Director of NBA Operations.
Responsibilities
+ Act as an effective communication conduit between Remote Operations Management and the Production teams.
+ Coordinate with arena, stadium, and tournament personnel regarding mobile unit arrivals and production schedules.
+ Manage logistical planning, including compound setup, security, catering, transportation, and travel logistics (flights and hotels).
+ Maintain and submit crew logs; hire production support staff and partner with payroll to ensure timely payment.
+ Collaborate closely with Production, Talent, Technical Managers, and show-related vendors to support all aspects of live production.
+ Identify, onboard, manage, and evaluate production support roles such as runners, spotters, stage managers, makeup artists, and statisticians.
+ Work collaboratively with staff and freelance Production Managers across multiple productions.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and production quality.
+ Primary focus on NBA on NBC, with involvement in additional NBC Sports properties as needed.
+ The Production Manager position will require high-volume travel during the NBA season and be based out of our Stamford, CT headquarters when not traveling.
Basic Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or a related field
+ Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in production or related projects
+ Strong understanding of the start-to-finish production process involved in Sports Television
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Smartsheet.
+ Willingness and ability to learn internal systems.
+ Ability to work independently and deliver timely, high-quality results.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in time-sensitive situations, with the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, building strong relationships with internal partners, vendors, and external stakeholders.
+ Experience managing multiple live production projects simultaneously.
+ Familiarity with union regulations and practices.
Additional Requirements:
+ Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT
+ Ability to travel frequently, including weekends and holidays, sometimes on short notice.
+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
+ Must be 18 years or older
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week.
