    Help modernize and sustain mission-critical systems that support customers around the world. As a Software Engineer supporting Global Services Management and Value-Added Services, you will play a hands-on role in system refresh initiatives, lifecycle support, and technical issue resolution across globally deployed platforms. You’ll work at the intersection of systems programming, automation, Linux environments, and emerging front-end and database technologies, gaining broad exposure while building a strong engineering foundation.

    What YOU will do:

    + You will develop, maintain, and troubleshoot software components using C/C++ and Python to support globally deployed service platforms.

    + You will support system refresh initiatives, including software re-imaging, patching, configuration updates, and hardware/software lifecycle upgrades.

    + You will collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, QA, Field Service) to ensure system stability, consistency, and performance during upgrades and deployments.

    + You will automate routine maintenance and service tasks using Python and Bash scripting to improve efficiency and reliability.

    + You will analyze logs, debug issues, and resolve incidents impacting global customers and service teams.

    + You will contribute to front-end development, automated testing, and database-related work, expanding your technical breadth.

    + You will create and maintain technical documentation to support deployment, troubleshooting, and operational teams.

    + You will participate in code reviews, testing, and CI processes, supporting continuous improvement and software quality.

    What YOU will learn:

    + You will gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical, globally deployed systems.

    + You will build expertise in Linux-based environments, system lifecycle management, and automation.

    + You will develop exposure to front-end technologies, automated testing frameworks, and database architecture.

    Qualifications You Must Have:

    + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience

    + Proficiency in C/C++ and Python

    + Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and basic system administration

    + Familiarity with version control tools such as Git

    + Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills

    + Effective communication and collaboration abilities

    Qualifications We Prefer:

    + Experience with system provisioning or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)

    + Understanding of networking fundamentals and hardware/software interfaces

    + Exposure to global service platforms or international teams

    + Knowledge of database architecture and maintenance

    The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
