    Responsibilities

    Supervise the daily operations and activities of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Dispatch Center.

     

    + Oversee the EMS Dispatch Center ensuring adequate, around-the-clock coverage and the effective dispatch of emergency and non-emergency transports. May perform the duties of a Dispatcher as department staffing levels require.

    + Monitor and adjust system resources to optimize response times and resource utilization.

    + Serve as the liaison between dispatch, EMS operations and hospital departments.

    + Maintain readiness and reliability of all communications equipment, CAD systems, radio networks and manages system performance.

    + Ensure compliance with all operational, clinical, and safety standards while maintaining proper documentation, reporting and data integrity for operational analysis.

    + Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.

    Requirements

    Licensure / Certification / Registration:

    + BLS Provider preferred. American Red Cross or Heart Association Accepted.

    + Emergency Management credentialed from the FEMA Emergency Management Institute preferred.

    + Emergency Managementpreferred.

    + Emergency Medical Tech preferred.

    + Emergency Medical Responde preferred.

    Education:

    + High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
