The Corporate Communications Team at Cleveland Clinic is looking to add a Corporate Communications Manager I to its team of dedicated caregivers. In this role, you will lead proactive and reactive media relations in support of institutional priorities, executive initiatives, special projects, and crisis communications, with a primary focus on the Neurological Institute, plus additional clinical areas. The position is heavily focused on national media outreach and positioning Cleveland Clinic experts in top-tier outlets. Due to the demand of this role, this caregiver should exhibit strong critical thinking and judgement skills along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

A caregiver in this position works hybrid days from 8:00AM - 5:00PM. This caregiver will be required to work on-site one day per week and as needed. The remainder of the time will be worked remotely.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Develop, write and research press materials, news releases, media advisories, pitch letters and press kits for local, national and international media.
+ Represent the Cleveland Clinic at community events and public relations activities.
+ Build and maintain relationships with key local, national and international media organizations to further the reputation and key priorities of each institute or business unit.
+ Identify, nurture and pitch key media organizations on Institute/business unit related topics and news.
+ Develop and maintain Marketing and Legal contacts.
+ Collaborate with Marketing and Legal on relevant projects or priorities.
+ Provide Media training to physicians, staff and others to prepare them for interviews and ensure integration of core Institute/business unit messages.
+ Coordinate news conferences and help with other special events
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
+ OR an additional six years of progressively responsible experience may substitute for the degree requirement
+ Five years of media relations, public relations or communications experience
+ Strong critical thinking, judgment and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Master's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
+ Background in media relations (e.g., agency or in-house) or journalism (e.g., TV news producers, reporters)
+ Experience working with large, complex organizations
+ Healthcare experience
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
+ Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
+ Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
+ In some locations, ability to move up to 15 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
