You will be the Tool Management Specialist for the Orlando site\. Our team is responsible for ensuring tool integrity and readiness across the Orlando site\.
What You Will Be Doing
The Tool Management Specialist provides day‑to‑day support for tool inspection across the Orlando site\. The tool management specialist acts as the primary interface between tool custodians, inspectors, and tool engineers\. They will support and operate the SAP‑based inspection system and ensure tools are accurately tracked, inspected, and cleared for use\. The role supports defect and risk identification notice \(RIN\) closure processes and assists inspectors with logistical and administrative tasks\.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
\- Control the Tool Inspection Workflow in SAP
\- Create, update, and close inspection records in SAP; move tools between “in‑service,” “inspection,” and “defect” statuses\.
\- Serve as the single point of contact for tool owners and inspectors; respond to inquiries, schedule inspections, and communicate status changes\.
\- Track open defects and RINs; coordinate corrective actions, document resolutions, and ensure timely closure\.
\- Maintain accurate data in the tool inventory system\.
\- Provide prompt, courteous assistance to tool custodians; educate customers on inspection procedures and system usage\.
\- Identify process inefficiencies, propose enhancements to SAP workflows, and support implementation of best practices\.

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience in a logistics, tooling, and or inventory control
Strong written and verbal communication; capable of interfacing with diverse stakeholders \(custodians, inspectors, management\)
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks, track status of numerous tools, and meet deadlines\.
Desired Skills:
Associate degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field
Experience operating in SAP
Ability to investigate tool discrepancies, resolve data conflicts, and support defect/RIN closure
Experience working in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments\.
Knowledge of tool life‑cycle management and inspection standards

**Ability to Work Remotely:** Onsite Full\-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility\.
**Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.
**Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
