    Production Welder III performs a variety of welding, machine operating, machine shop, fitting tasks, top and sub assembly of microelectronics assemblies, laser marking, glass pressing/blowing, brazing and other mechanical work that meet company and departmental objectives. Ensures the maintenance of a safe work environment with a goal of zero accidents.

     

    + Performs a variety of welding and fitting tasks that meet company and departmental objectives.

    + Manufactures and assembles metal fabrications. I.e. ferrous and non-ferrous using appropriate equipment and processes provided.

    + Maintains a consistent standard of work and performance to comply with Quality Assurance regulations.

    + Operating various specialty machinery and equipment.

    + Assists in identifying where improvements to function, efficiency and quality can be achieved.

    + Ensures that training is obtained to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures and processes required to effectively carry out the job function.

    + Respects contractual deadlines (Turn Around Time), assist in training of less experienced staff and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

    + May be assigned to assist other departments.

    + Emphasize safety and cleanliness by maintaining organized workstations and Shadow boards, verifying that appropriate safety equipment is being used properly.

    + May perform other related responsibilities.

    + Ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.

    + Ensure all chemicals are within expiration limits

    + Continues improvement- participate in Kaizen events, TIBS

    EDUCATION:

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    + NADCAP Welding certificate desired.

    + Vocational training, apprenticeships in welding or equivalent experience in related field.

    + Minimum of 7 years’ applicable experience.

    + Proficient in variety of welding and fitting tasks.

    + Solid shop math skills.

    + Ability to read blueprints, job travelers and weld schedules.

    + Able to problem-solve: Exercise judgement, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedent.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills.
