Job Brief
The Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) works in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to assure that the mental health and behavioral needs of the individuals we serve.

Position Summary
CP Unlimited is seeking a Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) to ensure that the mental health and behavioral needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities attending our programs are effectively met. The BIS is responsible for conducting functional behavioral assessments and developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans.
Position Duties **includes but not limited to the following**
+ Develop functional behavioral assessments and individualized behavior support plans using baseline data and ongoing proactive and reactive data collection.
+ Provide individual and group counseling services as needed.
+ Present psychotropic medication reviews and restrictive behavior support plans to the Human Rights Committee.
+ Train staff at multiple levels in the implementation and monitoring of behavior support plans.
+ Provide referrals for psychiatric care, psychological evaluations, and counseling services.
+ Act as a liaison regarding mental health services and behavioral concerns among interdisciplinary team (IDT) members, clinics, psychiatrists, hospitals, day programs, and families.
+ Maintain current professional certifications and obtain certification as a trainer in SCIP or PROMOTE.
Requirements
+ Master’s degree in a clinical and/or treatment-related field of psychology, with documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support development.
+ Minimum of five (5) years of experience working directly with individuals with MR/DD (BCBA certification is a plus).
+ Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the Hudson Valley.
+ Flexibility to work varied hours, including possible overnights and weekends.
+ Ability to provide on-call behavioral service coverage via cell phone.
