POSITION OVERVIEW:
Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the Assembly Department, to include providing direct supervision and overseeing workflow, scheduling staff to meet organizational needs, and ensuring quality control and process improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Direct and coordinate the activities of the Assembly Department to continually improve operational planning and production processes to produce curtainwall and other building enclosure systems in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
+ Review production schedules as part of planning for future and ongoing projects to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
+ Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and to improve department efficiency and utilization.
+ Evaluate product drawings for their ability to be manufactured and to determine production requirements.
+ Provide supervision and leadership to Assembly Department staff
+ Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production problems.
+ Develop and maintain a skilled workforce by hiring, training, and evaluating staff.
+ Identify and develop subordinate leadership within the department.
+ Prepare and maintain production reports.
+ Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and perform work practices that are safe.
+ Adhere to company policies and rules.
+ Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ A minimum of an Associate's degree in Business, Management, Construction Sciences, Manufacturing Sciences, or related field or equivalent of +10 years of practical work experience in a production or manufacturing setting, esp. in the field of construction or curtainwall. A Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
+ Knowledge of principles and process for providing supervision and leadership with considerable experience supervising and managing employees in a manufacturing setting.
+ Ability to maintain a tactful, orderly working relationship with others.
+ Ability to read and write English with excellent communication skills, follow verbal instructions, and use complex mathematics.
+ Bilingual in Spanish preferred, however not required.
+ Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
+ Good computer skills, to include Microsoft Office Suite, IBM Notes, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee has constant exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment. They will have constant exposure to moderate noise. They must frequently stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee has constant use of both hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools. They must constantly reach with both hands and arms; use both hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material. The employee will have frequent repetitive motions. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. The employee has constant requirement of specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus. They must constantly wear eye and ear protection while on shop floor/yard area and in other designated areas. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
