Position Description
The Encroachments Project Management Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Encroachment Project Management team. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and compliant execution of encroachment inquiries and assigned projects across the United States. The manager ensures adherence to cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements—including DOT, FERC, and Kinder Morgan standards—while fostering strong communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professional and administrative personnel.
+ Enhance team capabilities by improving processes, standards, and procedures.
+ Hold team members accountable for performance and project delivery.
+ Provide training and oversight to ensure consistent application of Project Management methodologies.
Project & Encroachment Oversight
+ Oversee the processing and completion of encroachment inquiries assigned to the team.
+ Manage a minimum of two encroachment projects annually, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements.
+ Lead permitting and right-of-way (ROW) activities for assigned encroachment projects.
+ Review and approve all project estimates generated by the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Promote open, continuous communication between external encroachment entities and the Kinder Morgan Encroachment team.
+ Coordinate with stakeholders across departments to support business objectives and maintain alignment.
+ Participate in the annual Natural Gas budgeting process.
+ Lead special initiatives aimed at streamlining and improving company processes and procedures.
Position Requirements
Education
+ Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Experience
+ Minimum of 10 years of Project Management and/or Engineering experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
+ Demonstrated experience managing multiple professional and administrative personnel.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
Certifications & Licenses
+ Possess and maintain valid driver's license and be insurable by company's insurance carrier.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
+ Primarily office-based role with occasional travel (up to 20%) to project sites and other company locations across the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in pipeline-related Project Management.
+ Experience in natural gas pipeline operations.
+ Experience with Microsoft or equivalent scheduling software.
