Job Description
As a Distribution Engineer II, you will be tasked with supporting the development of design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems. These systems operate from 4kV through 138kV and are primarily associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports. Your role will also involve ensuring compliance with safety requirements as well as design and quality expectations.

+ Travel to sites for inspections and perform engineering design work upon return.
+ Perform engineering calculations, including structural analysis for wood pole loading and voltage drop calculations.
+ Develop permitting documents for various authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
+ Provide engineering support during construction and conduct post-construction reviews.
+ Conduct root cause analysis of outages and apply engineering principles for mitigation.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ArcGIS, ArcMap
+ 2+ years of experience in the power distribution utility industry
+ Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
+ Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, SOCKET, or similar
+ Experience using CAD tools, MicroStation and/or GIS
+ Familiarity with NESC and design standards
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based, with approximately 90% of work conducted in the office and 5-10% in the field. Candidates should be comfortable working in both settings. Selected candidates will be trained in customer engineering and construction standards and will gain experience in various areas, including GIS design training, project and financial management, and client design standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $36.00/hr.
