    Job Title: Polisher and Buffer

    Job Description

    As a Polisher and Buffer, you will begin in the grinding department, where you will use a hand grinder to smooth rough edges and polish metal surfaces to a high-quality finish. You will cross-train in basic fabrication, which includes cutting metal to length using a tape measure, operating brake presses, spot welding, buffing, and preparing items for painting. You will also assist in other departments as needed, such as assembly, packaging, and painting.

    Responsibilities

    + Use a hand grinder to smooth and polish metal surfaces.

    + Cross-train in basic fabrication tasks including metal cutting, brake press operation, and spot welding.

    + Assist with buffing and racking items for painting.

    + Help out in assembly, packaging, and painting departments when required.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work experience, education, or hobbies.

    + Experience with sheet metal grinding.

    + Proficiency in tape measure reading and basic math.

    + Experience with hand and power tools including welding and fabrication.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 6 months of manufacturing experience.

    + Shop class experience in welding, automotive, woodworking, or machine/tool.

    Work in a large, fast-paced manufacturing facility where tasks can be physically demanding. Self-motivation is key in this smoke-free campus environment. Be prepared for no temperature control, as it can get warm during the summer months.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.84 - $22.09/hr.
