Job Title: Converting Operator** **Job Description

As a Converting Operator, you will be responsible for operating machinery used in flexible packaging, including tasks such as labeling and printing on boxes. Your role will also involve utilizing and maintaining mounting equipment, ensuring its cleanliness throughout your shift. Additionally, you will handle plates used as molds, inspecting and cleaning them before use and storage.

Responsibilities

+ Operate machines for flexible packaging.

+ Utilize and maintain mounting equipment.

+ Ensure cleanliness of equipment throughout the shift.

+ Handle and inspect plates used as molds.

+ Clean plates before storage.

Essential Skills

+ 6+ months of machine operation experience.

+ 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

+ Mechanically inclined.

+ Experience in assembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Press Operator experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a smaller, family-owned and operated company with low staff turnover, where most employees have been with the company for over 5 years. The team is expected to work hard but is provided with flexibility for family matters. The dress code includes steel toe boots, jeans or work pants without holes, and a t-shirt. PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is provided. The 1st shift runs from 5 AM to 1 PM, and the 2nd shift is from 1 PM to 9 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
