    The Learning Resources and Simulation Center (https://usm.maine.edu/school-nursing/learning-resources-and-simulation-center/) at USM provides an environment for our students to develop clinical judgment and reasoning while focusing on best practices. This is where our students put classroom theory and scientific principles into action, utilizing “real-world” scenarios and equipment.

     

    The Nursing Simulation and Skills Lab Specialist position pays $21.09/hour (non-negotiable) hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System. This position is full-time, working 8:00AM – 4:30PM, Monday – Friday. Although this position is based on our Portland Campus frequent time may be spent on our Lewiston Campus as well.

     

    The Learning Space Specialist provides support services in the preparation, operation, and maintenance of the Center's equipment and simulation spaces and skills labs for simulation/skills-based learning experiences. The successful candidate will be well-organized and possess excellent written, phone and verbal communication skills.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Associate's degree, or vocational or technical school degree in a health-related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Strong technology skills with the ability to learn and use new technologies.

    + Physical ability to lift, move, maintain, and set up computer, audio-visual, and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
