Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the end-to-end optimization of production processes, from new product introduction (NPI) through to stable, efficient, and cost-effective mass production. You will work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to enhance throughput, reduce costs and waste, and improve first-pass yield, all while ensuring safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
+ Drive the optimization of production processes from NPI through mass production.
+ Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
+ Enhance production throughput, reduce costs and waste.
+ Improve first-pass yield while ensuring safety and compliance.
+ Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Conduct process improvement and process engineering projects.
+ Utilize value stream mapping, scheduling, and project management to optimize flow lines.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
+ Experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing.
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Master’s degree preferred.
+ Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks/Inventor/AutoCAD) and PLM/ERP systems.
+ Strong statistical analysis capability (SPC, DOE, capability indices).
+ Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP/PPAP.
+ Hands-on experience with tooling/fixturing and equipment validation.
+ Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher is a plus), 5S, Kaizen, VSM, SMED.
+ Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
Work Environment
The candidate will split their time equally between the shop floor and an office environment. The role requires a blend of hands-on shop floor leadership and office-based strategic planning. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Katy, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
