Join a dynamic team as an Automation Engineer, where you will leverage your expertise in programming and debugging PLCs to enhance warehouse automation systems. This role involves collaborating with state-of-the-art technologies and ensuring seamless integration between warehouse management systems and physical automation components.
Responsibilities
+ Program and debug PLCs, with a preference for Siemens S7-1500, used in warehouse automation systems.
+ Utilize working knowledge of WCS platforms like Dematic iQ, Honeywell Intelligrated Momentum, and others to bridge warehouse management systems with physical automation.
+ Analyze bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the WCS system to optimize processes and improve routing efficiency.
+ Debug task execution issues between EWM and WCS/automation systems, ensuring proper routing of warehouse orders.
+ Test and commission Siemens PLC automation projects in live warehouse environments integrated with SAP EWM.
+ Integrate SAP EWM with automated technologies such as robotics, AS/RS systems, and conveyor systems.
+ Implement IT infrastructure integration, including Active Directory and cybersecurity best practices.
+ Integrate AMRs into warehouse automation systems for real-time communication with WMS/WCS.
+ Ensure compliance with GxP standards, particularly Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP), in regulated environments.
Essential Skills
+ Expertise in PLC programming and debugging, ideally 5-7 years of experience, with a focus on Siemens PLCs.
+ Proficiency in WCS platforms and understanding of their integration with WMS and automation layers.
+ Experience with SAP EWM and troubleshooting within automated warehouse environments.
+ Strong understanding of automation, SCADA, and troubleshooting techniques.
+ Experience with IT integration, including Active Directory and cybersecurity practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with warehouse control systems, particularly Korber.
+ Understanding of regulated environments and GxP compliance standards.
+ Experience with Siemens and Korber systems.
Work Environment
The position supports a high-visibility greenfield expansion project in a construction environment. Currently, the land is still in the grading phase, but trailers will be on-site by the middle of next year. This effort focuses on the warehouse and intralogistics project track. The project is located in NC and promises to offer experience highly sought after in the Raleigh market.

This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr.
