    The medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.

    + Support clinicians and care management teams in assessing and maintaining chronic disease management.

    + Examine and treat patient population.

    + Perform all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.

    Essential Skills

    + Medical assisting

    + Patient care

    + Phlebotomy

    + Medical terminology

    + Phlebotomy experience

    + Ability to take manual vitals

    + Active BLS certification

    + Active driver's license

    + Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships

    + Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma required

    + 2 years' experience in clinic/back office healthcare setting

    + MA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experience

    + Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred

    + Experience with TriMed EMR preferred

    + Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements

    + Knowledge of basic medical terminology

    + Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices

    + Flexibility to float from one location to another

    + Independent, responsible, and organized

    Work Environment

    This position is 100% onsite in a pediatric primary care clinic. The work schedule includes Mondays from 8am to 12pm and Tuesdays to Thursdays from 1pm to 7pm. There is a possibility of traveling between clinics with compensation offered at $0.67 per mile. If floating outside core locations, a $20 gas card is provided. The work environment supports training on manual vitals.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26000.00 - $30000.00/yr.
