    Job Title: Industrial Engineer

    Job Description

    The primary role of an Industrial Engineer is to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. This includes managing human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. The objective is to enhance productivity through the efficient management of people, business methods, and technology.

    Responsibilities

    + Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished products.

    + Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

    + Recommend methods for improving the utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.

    + Plan and establish sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and promote efficient utilization.

    + Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

    + Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.

    + Estimate production cost and assess the effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.

    + Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer software.

    Essential Skills

    + Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.

    + Team player and detail-oriented.

    + Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.

    + Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

    + Basic knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

    + Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field, such as MS Visual Basic, MS Project, and ABAQUS.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

    + 2-4 years of experience required.

    + Experience in industrial engineering, time studies, human factors, logistics, project management, plant layout, AutoCAD, continuous improvement, lean manufacturing.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes daily team meetings, smaller team carry-over meetings, brief stand-up meetings, and discussions on top priority items. The role requires supporting production needs and ongoing projects, checking and reviewing emails from different shifts to understand priorities. The team consists of around 12 people, with interaction across production, quality, and maintenance departments. There is potential for contract extension and direct hire opportunities.

    This is a Contract position based out of Buffalo, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
