Job Title: Manufacturing Engineering TechnicianJob Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for planning, directing, analyzing, and coordinating manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement. This role involves participating in value stream mapping and events to identify and implement process improvements. The technician must be adept at performing time studies, creating and maintaining standard work instructions, and documenting within change control systems.
Responsibilities
+ Plan and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
+ Drive defects to root cause, implement countermeasures, and report customer concern responses.
+ Create and maintain standard work instructions from scratch for new truck builds.
+ Collaborate with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient Lean production methods.
+ Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in a factory environment.
+ Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to write clear, detailed work instructions.
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts.
+ Associate’s Degree in an engineering discipline or current enrollment in an engineering program with relevant experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in SolidWorks as the 3D CAD software.
Work Environment
The company operates as the leading walk-in van body manufacturer in North America, producing over 7,500 vehicles annually and serving a multitude of industries. The role offers a flexible work schedule of 40 to 45 hours per week, typically from 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, or 8am-5pm, with the possibility of second shift work if needed. This opportunity is ideal for a Manufacturing Engineer seeking valuable experience and a long-term career without the demanding hours typical in the automotive industry.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sturgis, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr.
