Job Title: Aircraft Structures Engineer (SME)
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced professional Aeronautical/Structures engineer Subject Matter Expert to lead R&D and sustainment efforts, liaison, and solutioning. This individual will validate design, analysis, and test data to ensure compliance with airworthiness requirements. The role is critical in confirming that aircraft designs meet certification requirements and are structurally sound, maintainable, and safe for flight.
Responsibilities
• Perform structural analysis of primary and secondary structure and systems. Independently develop technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with solutions that are imaginative, thorough, and practicable and consistent with organization objectives.
• Perform detailed 3D designs; generate CAD drawings and related documents, and support manufacturing and assembly of components.
+ Conduct detailed audits of design, test data, and analysis.
+ Evaluate non-linear finite element models (FEM) and assess for correct solver parameters, material models, and assumptions.
+ Review analytical models and ensure consistency to engineering drawings.
+ Validate compliance findings against the provided basis of certification.
+ Perform hand calculations to verify key results and confirm model validity and accuracy.
+ Deliver a formal audit report detailing findings, errors, and recommendations.
+ Stand by audit conclusions and support regulatory review processes.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 10-15 years of experience in aircraft/spacecraft structural engineering, with progressive roles in design, analysis, and compliance.
+ FAA DER or equivalent delegation status (Structures).
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks, MS Office (Excel, Word), and MathCAD.
+ Expertise in structural analysis and non-linear finite element modeling. (FEA/NASTRAN/FEMAP)
+ Sensor Development (radar/rf/optical) preffered
+ Knowledge of airworthiness certification and compliance demonstration.
+ Understanding of aircraft materials, fatigue life, and maintenance planning.
+ Experience in leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
+ Capability to assign and review work for compliance and quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Preferred backgrounds include Lead Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer, Technical Lead, or FAA DER (Structures).

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooksville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $86.53 - $91.35/hr.
