CNC Lead - 2nd Shift - Otay Mesa - $26/hr-$40/hr
Job Description
Lead the machining department to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and safety compliance. Oversee daily operations, assign tasks, and support machinists with technical guidance. Monitor output, resolve issues, and maintain equipment performance. Collaborate with other departments to meet production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage the machining department to ensure high production efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
+ Oversee daily operations, assigning tasks to machinists and providing technical guidance as needed.
+ Monitor production output, resolve any issues that arise, and maintain optimal equipment performance.
+ Collaborate with other departments to achieve production goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in CNC machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to lead and train machinists in a high-volume production environment.
+ Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
+ Skilled in workflow planning and meeting production deadlines.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 3+ years in machining operations, including leadership or supervisory experience.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
+ Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.

Work Environment
Work in a large open manufacturing setting with a machine shop, molding, bonding (machine presses), and warehouse areas. The location operates three shifts with a safe and clean work environment, accommodating 67 people on the first shift, 40 on the second, and 5 on the third.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.00/hr.
