Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler** **Job Description
As a Forklift Operator and Material Handler, you will assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment. Your role will involve monitoring machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and output, loading raw materials, and removing finished products from production lines. Additionally, you will perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery, inspect products for defects, and report issues to supervisors. Maintaining accurate production records and following safety protocols are also key aspects of this role. You will support other production tasks as needed, ensuring that the production of products and services meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Responsibilities
+ Assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment.
+ Monitor machines during operation for consistent quality and output.
+ Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
+ Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery.
+ Inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisors.
+ Maintain accurate production records and follow safety protocols.
+ Support other production tasks as needed.
+ Operate machines, including extruders, laminators, presses, and slitters.
+ Ensure preventative maintenance on machines is performed.
Essential Skills
+ Previous industrial experience.
+ Knowledge of machinery functions.
+ Basic computer and math skills.
+ Proficiency in forklift and clamp truck operations (training provided).
+ Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Capability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Machine operating experience.
+ Experience with extruder operations.
+ Experience working on laminating machines.
+ Possibility of working on press and slitter machines.
+ Experience in assembly, general labor, and general production.
+ Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical tasks, packing, picking, RF scanner, and packaging.

Work Environment
This position involves machine operating and/or forklift operating in a hot and loud environment due to the rewind machines. Candidates will run multiple different lines and receive cross-training on various machines. Shifts include 1st, 2nd (3pm - 11pm), and 3rd (11pm - 7am or 12am - 8am) with most 3rd shift positions running 12-hour shifts from Sunday to Thursday.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Doswell, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
