    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant for a dynamic role that involves floating between back office, front office, and surgery scheduling tasks. This position is integral to patient care and administrative support, ensuring smooth operations across various medical specialties.

    Responsibilities

    + Room patients and take vital signs.

    + Document the chief complaint and assist with medical procedures.

    + Schedule appointments and surgeries, ensuring all details are meticulously managed.

    + Handle patient phone calls and coordinate follow-ups on test results.

    + Perform administrative duties including typing, filing, faxing, and reception tasks.

    + Answer phone calls for referrals and translate for patients in Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese.

    Essential Skills

    + Medical assisting experience with a minimum of 3 years in GI, Family, OBGYN, Urology, or surgery specialties.

    + Proficiency in appointment scheduling and insurance verification.

    + Certified Medical Assistant with knowledge of EMR systems, specifically Athena.

    + Understanding of medical terminology.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in surgery scheduling is a plus.

    + Front office experience is advantageous.

    + Ability to translate for patients in Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese.

    Work Environment

    This role involves floating within the greater Houston area, with mileage and travel reimbursed. Locations include Webster, Pasadena, and Bellaire, with rare occasions in North Houston for urgent situations. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pearland, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
