Job Title: AI/ML Orchestration Lead EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Orchestration Lead Engineer to lead the development of orchestration layers that transform large language models (LLMs) into autonomous agents capable of complex reasoning and real-world action. In this role, you will design and implement orchestration frameworks and build integration ecosystems, enabling AI to coordinate across tools, memory systems, and multi-agent workflows. You will also drive the technical roadmap for agentic AI, from prompt orchestration to autonomous system design.

Responsibilities

+ Design and implement agentic orchestration frameworks using existing and custom frameworks.

+ Build tool integration ecosystems utilizing existing standards for function calling and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

+ Architect multi-agent collaboration systems with distributed reasoning, planning, and execution capabilities.

+ Create memory and context management systems to enable long-term agent coherence and personalization.

+ Develop evaluation frameworks for agent reliability, safety, and performance.

+ Lead a team of engineers and collaborate with research, product, and platform teams.

+ Drive the technical roadmap for agentic AI, focusing on prompt orchestration and autonomous system design.

Essential Skills

+ 7+ years of experience in AI/ML systems with a focus on LLM applications or agent frameworks.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

+ Proficiency in agentic AI architectures, including planning, reasoning, tool use, and memory systems.

+ Experience in building production AI systems at scale with robust error handling and observability.

+ Knowledge of Python, Java, Kotlin, async programming, and API design.

+ Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and LLM orchestration patterns.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with AutoGen, MCP servers, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone), workflow orchestration, Kubernetes, and edge deployment.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work environment, with three days on-site and two days remote. The role is based in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and requires full-time commitment. The work environment involves mastering technologies and collaborating across various teams to create adaptive AI experiences on diverse platforms, including laptops, mobile, tablets, and cloud.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $220000.00/yr.
