    Job Title: Associate Quality ControlJob Description

     

    This fully onsite position offers an exciting opportunity for those interested in quality control within a laboratory setting. Candidates will undergo training on a day shift schedule for the first 3 to 6 months before transitioning to a night shift schedule. The role involves supporting sample management and laboratory testing activities, ensuring compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and log incoming samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

    + Ensure proper labeling, storage, and chain-of-custody documentation for all samples.

    + Prepare and execute routine and complex testing procedures for bioassay, chemistry, and microbiology following established protocols and regulatory standards.

    + Accurately record data, assess results for compliance with specifications, and ensure documentation meets GDP and GMP requirements.

    + Identify technical issues during testing and escalate or resolve them using defined procedures, collaborating with senior staff for complex problems.

    + Operate, calibrate, and perform basic maintenance on laboratory instruments such as HPLC, ELISA platforms, and microbiological incubators to ensure readiness for testing.

    + Participate in laboratory investigations related to out-of-specification results or deviations and provide supporting documentation during audits.

    + Work closely with analysts and team leads across QC areas to meet project milestones and testing timelines.

    + Suggest process improvements and contribute to efficiency initiatives within QC labs.

    + Adhere to all safety guidelines, SOPs, and regulatory requirements while performing testing and handling hazardous materials.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in sample management and ability to perform basic laboratory tasks with precision.

    + Familiarity with LIMS and documentation systems.

    + Understanding of SOPs, GDP, and safety protocols to ensure compliance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.

    + 1-3 years of experience in a laboratory or sample management role.

    + Familiarity with LIMS or other sample tracking systems preferred.

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

    + Good communication and teamwork skills.

    + Availability to work night shifts from 10 PM to 8 AM on a 4/10 schedule.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves a structured training period on a day shift schedule (4/10) for the first 3-6 months. Post-training, the associate will transition to a night shift schedule (Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday) from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. The role involves working in a dynamic laboratory setting, supporting various testing areas including chemistry, bioassay, and microbiology.

    This is a Contract position based out of Holly Springs, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
