Research Technician
Job Description
Join our dynamic Maize Transformation team within the Crop Transformation Systems in Biotechnology and Trait Discovery and Optimization. As a Research Technician, you will play a crucial role in generating quality transgenic and genome editing events to support our trait discovery, trait optimization, and product development programs.
Responsibilities
+ Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure the generation of quality transgenic and genome editing events.
+ Prepare explants, perform transformations, sub-culture tissue during the selection process, and regenerate tissue to produce high-quality transgenic or genome-edited plants.
+ Maintain accurate electronic and legal notebook records for all research work, and summarize results while noting areas for improvement.
+ Execute all lab work following safety and ergonomic standards.
+ Organize daily workflow to meet specified timelines.
+ Exhibit excellent interpersonal and team communication skills, organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a positive, can-do attitude.
Essential Skills
+ Lab Technician skills
+ 3-5 years of relevant experience
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Senior Lab Technician experience is preferred
+ Strong research skills
Work Environment
This position is based on a beautiful campus in Johnston, IA. The role is a long-term contract opportunity with holiday and paid time off offered. Work hours are Monday through Friday, during the first shift. The work environment promotes safety and ergonomic standards, and team collaboration is highly valued.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
