What you'll be doing:
+ Partner with dispatch in safely transporting material to and from transloading facilities
+ Operate a Locomotive, perform some rail switching in the afternoons (we provide training)
+ Fuel and clean trucks; perform pre and post-trip inspections, complete paperwork, and reviews communication board
+ Ensure that the truck meets or exceeds safe operational standards
+ Report maintenance issues to the maintenance crew
+ Understand critical service requirements and see they are met
+ Maneuver and connect heavy hoses
+ Complete required paperwork, including manifests, driver logs, recaps, accident reports in compliance with DOT regulations and Savage Safety rules
+ Interact with other Savage and customer management and personnel on a daily basis.; understand customer service and have strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
What you'll need:
+ Class A CDL
+ Six months of experience with pneumatic trailers and 53 ft. van trailers
+ High School or GED
+ Mountain driving experience in the snow and ice is preferred
+ Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
+ Commitment to safety and following protocols
+ Understanding of customer service principles
+ Compliance with DOT regulations and completion of required paperwork
Physical Requirements of this role:
+ The schedule will be 9 am to 9 pm, Friday to Tuesday
+ Climb into and out of cab multiple times per shift
+ Climb a ladder and work at heights if needed
+ Lift 50 or more pounds occasionally
+ Drive and work in adverse weather conditions
+ Hook and unhook hoses and open and close valves
