Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at a non-profit organization in Los Angeles, California. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting mission-driven initiatives. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries and monthly account reconciliations.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with non-profit financial regulations.

• Assist in the creation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.

• Compile and analyze financial statements for internal and external reporting purposes.

• Support audit preparations by gathering relevant schedules and documentation.

• Collaborate with program managers to oversee and track restricted funds, grants, and donations.

• Maintain accurate records of contributions and assist in donor reporting efforts.

• Provide assistance with payroll processing and benefits administration when required.

• Identify areas for financial process improvement and contribute to the implementation of best practices. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• 1–3 years of detail-oriented accounting experience; experience in non-profit accounting is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Oracle, or NetSuite.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Effective time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with teams and stakeholders.

• Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Knowledge of corporate tax principles and journal entry processes.
