Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company’s financial records, with a strong focus on managing the Profit & Loss (P& L) statement, Balance Sheet, and month‑end close activities. This role provides critical financial analysis, supports leadership with forecasting and budgeting, and ensures compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
+ Oversee preparation, review, and analysis of the P& L statement and Balance Sheet on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
+ Perform detailed variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to management.
+ Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjustments.
+ Ensure proper classification and accuracy of revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
+ Assist with preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
General Ledger Management
+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
+ Conduct periodic audits of internal processes to strengthen accounting controls.
+ Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
Budgeting & Forecasting
+ Support annual budgeting and ongoing financial forecasting processes.
+ Partner with department leaders to track spending and identify financial trends.
+ Provide insights into operational performance and recommend improvements.
Compliance & Controls
+ Ensure compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
+ Support external audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
+ Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
+ Work closely with operations, finance, and leadership teams to provide financial support.
+ Communicate financial results and insights in a clear and actionable manner.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
+ 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
+ Strong experience managing P& L and Balance Sheet oversight.
+ Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
+ Proficiency with accounting systems
+ Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v‑lookup, complex formulas).
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
+ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
