Description
We are looking for a skilled Capital Projects Accountant with expertise in overseeing capital construction projects to join our team in Washington, DC. This is a contract position that requires someone with keen attention to detail, capable of managing projects with multiple phases, funding sources, and budgets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction accounting practices.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate all financial aspects of capital construction projects.
• Manage project phases, funding sources, and budgets while maintaining accurate records and tracking expenses.
• Facilitate payment processing and draw requests, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals and communicate progress effectively.
• Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support project milestones and financial activities.
• Conduct regular meetings with team members and contractors to maintain project alignment.
• Review and approve invoices and payment requests related to construction activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience within capital construction projects and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices, including payment processing and draw requests.
• Ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate financial records.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with stakeholders and team members.
• • Proficiency in project management tools and software to track progress and manage documentation.
