Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in managing financial records and performing accurate reconciliations. You will play an essential part in maintaining the integrity of accounting processes and supporting month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze journal entries to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.

• Conduct comprehensive account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies.

• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

• Manage bank reconciliations to confirm alignment between financial records and bank statements.

• Assist with month-end close procedures, including reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules.

• Utilize Excel for accounting tasks and data analysis to streamline processes.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

• Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.

• Expertise in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

• Familiarity with performing bank reconciliations.

• Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and accounting tasks.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting functions.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment.
