We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our agriculture-focused organization in Union, New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in accounting practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain an accurate general ledger.

• Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment schedules.

• Manage month-end close activities to produce reliable financial statements.

• Process AIA billing and ensure proper documentation for construction-related projects.

• Utilize Sage software to streamline accounting tasks and reporting.

• Collaborate with team members to enhance financial workflows and accuracy.

• Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation and reports as required.

• Maintain detailed records and reports to support organizational financial health.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

• Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.

• Experience with accounts payable processes and procedures.

• Familiarity with AIA billing and construction-related accounting.

• Skilled in using Sage software for accounting tasks.

• Knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
