Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is seeking a Pathology Assistant to provide appropriate, high quality, and comprehensive anatomic pathology services. This role will be working per diem hours (Days/ Evenings).
The Pathologists' Assistant is engaged in all phases of gross description and dissection of surgical specimens.
Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following:
+ Assist in the preparation and performance of gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
+ Under the indirect supervision of a pathologist, describe gross anatomic features, dissect surgical specimens, and prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination to include preparation of frozen section (when applicable).
+ Assure appropriate specimen accessioning and labeling of surgical pathology specimens.
+ Obtain pertinent clinical records, case history, laboratory data, copies of scans and X-rays, when indicated.
+ Photograph specimens as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Must be ASCP certified or eligible to certify. Must be certified within one- year post-hire.
Pay Range:
$55.00 - $74.02
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
