Assists the Director of Nursing/Resident Care with a variety of activities to ensure an efficiently run department. Responsible for administrative duties for the Resident Care Department including answering and directing telephone calls, taking messages, meeting and greeting visitors. Oversees residents’ personal appearance, cleanliness and tidiness, as well as tidiness of apartments through monitoring RCA daily performance.

+ Answers Wellness Center telephone when nurse is not present
+ Accurately updates RCA assignment worksheets.
+ Establishes resident shower and bed linen change schedule.
+ Files all correspondence for the nursing and resident care departments.
+ Oversees RCA compliance with care standards
+ Orients new RCAs during first 3 days of employment
+ Fills in to do resident care when staff is short-handed
+ Checks that weights have been done and recorded daily
+ Tracks and maintains resident care ancillary supplies.
+ Covers reception desk as required
+ Delivers resident mail and daily newspapers
+ Accompanies pharmacy deliveries to residents’ apartments as requested
+ Develops and maintain Resident Care Department schedule with DRC
+ Tests E-Call system as required
+ Orders incontinent briefs weekly
+ Assists with moving residents’ in-house
+ Assists the Director in data collection and correction for Performance Improvement activities.
+ Oversees the disposition of all resident medical records.
+ Assists nurse with preparing resident for emergency transport
+ Updates Kronos (employee work time system) daily and as needed
Experience:
+ Skill and knowledge are required in English grammar, writing and spelling.
+ Requires organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
+ File maintenance skills are essential.
+ Requires the ability to respond calmly and competently to emergency situations.
+ Requires the ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing.
+ High school graduate or GED is required.
Pay Range:
$17.00 - $22.88
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
