Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an experienced and passionate **Unit-Based Nurse Educator** to support our Resource Team and Medical Management Unit (MMU). This role floats across inpatient units, including **Progressive Care (PCU), Medical-Surgical, and Critical Care** , and plays a key role in advancing nursing excellence through education, mentorship, and evidence-based practice.

Position Summary
The Unit-Based Nurse Educator provides clinical education and competency support across multiple inpatient units. This role partners closely with nursing leadership to support onboarding, ongoing staff development, and practice initiatives while serving as a clinical and educational resource for frontline staff.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide education, training, and competency validation across PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Critical Care units
+ Support nurse orientation, onboarding, and transition to practice initiatives
+ Collaborate with unit leadership to assess and address unit-specific educational needs
+ Serve as a clinical resource for evidence-based practice, policies, and professional standards
+ Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives
+ Promote professional growth, clinical excellence, and a culture of continuous learning
Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
+ Current Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required
+ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
+ Minimum of 3 years of current, relevant nursing experience required
+ Critical Care experience strongly preferred; PCU experience acceptable
+ Additional 1–3 years of education, training, preceptor, or staff development experience preferred
Skills & Knowledge
+ Knowledge of nursing theory and clinical practice acquired through an accredited U.S. nursing program or CGFNS certification
+ Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse clinical environments
+ Passion for staff development, mentorship, and advancing nursing practice

Pay Range:
$38.11 - $98.23
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
