The Production Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the activities of all production departments through first line supervisors to ensure KPS Global meets quality, productivity, housekeeping, and safety goals.
+ Assisting Plant Manager in achieving plant operational goals and participating in developing a lean vision and lean transformation plan by creating a lean culture through continuous improvement to insure a lean vision is communicated
+ Developing value streams and identifying launch areas and timelines
+ Reviewing weekly production schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations and meet ship schedule deadlines
+ Reviewing production and operating reports and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevention of operational delays
+ Implementing a robust 5S and visual workplace program and implementing a standard work process for all production and manufacturing operations
+ Working with Plant Manager to provide leadership and ensure that all safety and ergonomic standards are properly trained and in place; working with management to identify and correct any hazards and provide assistance in worker's compensation administration
+ Engaging in all required HR activities including recruiting, coaching, counseling, performance management, associate development
+ Developing a Kaizen Plan and conducting Kaizen Event
Required Skills
+ Good understanding of business fundamentals
+ Must have good business ethics to act in the best interests of the company, co-workers and other stake holders in the environment.
+ Have a basic knowledge of environmental, health and safety practices.
+ Must have excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
+ Basic knowledge of MRP and supply chain management.
+ Must have good time management skills
+ Must possess great leadership skills to drive culture shift changes
+ Good understanding of implementing quality at the source procedures.
+ Good communication skills to provide direction and leadership consistent with business plan goals.
+ Bilingual Preferred
+ Strong computer skills are required, including the ability to manage large volumes of data, create and edit basic databases, and generate reports to effectively communicate information.
Required Experience
+ Minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a related manufacturing environment with a proven track record of successful production and manufacturing improvements.
+ Experience with implementation of visual managements systems and processes.
+ Lean manufacturing background with a proven track record of implementing 6S, Kanban systems, pull systems, Level loading.
+ Proven track record of sustainable manufacturing practices.
