Customer Service Representative (Remote)

Type: Contract (6 months)

Pay Rate: $18.50/hour

Schedule: Shifts between 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM EST (Holiday work expected; overtime opportunities available)

About the Role

We are seeking Customer Service Representatives to join a high-volume residential services team during their busiest season. This role is perfect for individuals who excel in fast-paced environments, have strong communication skills, and can handle challenging customer interactions with professionalism and empathy.

Key Responsibilities

+ Handle a high volume of inbound calls (average call time: 2.5 minutes)

+ Assist customers with service inquiries, billing questions, and transaction processing

+ Take residential orders for propane and heating oil

+ Process over-the-phone payments accurately (basic math skills required)

+ De-escalate upset customers and manage difficult conversations

+ Ensure adherence to productivity metrics (time in queue, call status, schedule compliance)

Must-Have Skills

+ Previous customer service experience (call center preferred)

+ Ability to work in a high-volume environment

+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills

+ Basic math proficiency (accuracy is critical for safety)

+ Knowledge of Office 365 and basic office equipment

+ Ability to hardwire internet connection via Ethernet

+ (Minimum speed: 100 Mbps upload / 20 Mbps download – test at speedtest.net)

+ 100% Remote – equipment provided (laptop, monitors, headset, docking station, credit card keypad)

+ Must demonstrate professionalism and accountability while working from home

+ Productivity monitored by a dedicated team

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
