About the role
As an **Application** **Production Support Engineer (Java and GCP)** , you will make an impact by ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of critical cloud-native applications and systems. You will be a valued member of our Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with development, operations, and business stakeholders to resolve complex incidents and maintain seamless service delivery.

In this role, you will:
+ Provide expert-level (L3) support for high-priority production incidents, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
+ Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation using PagerDuty to respond to critical alerts and system issues.
+ Troubleshoot and debug Java-based microservices built with Spring Boot and exposed via REST APIs.
+ Manage and support applications deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including GKE and serverless environments.
+ Maintain and support ETL workflows orchestrated by Apache Airflow and secure file transfers via IBM Sterling MFT.
+ Implement proactive monitoring and observability using ELK stack or similar tools, and automate operational tasks using scripting and cloud-native tooling.
+ Adhere to Change Management processes and participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
Work model
This is an **onsite position** based in **Irving, TX** , requiring presence in the client or Cognizant office. We strive to provide flexibility wherever possible and support a healthy work-life balance through our wellbeing programs.
What you need to have to be considered
+ 5+ years of experience in Production Support, SRE, or L3 Application Support roles in cloud-native environments.
+ Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot for microservices troubleshooting.
+ Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially GKE (Kubernetes).
+ Strong knowledge of Linux and shell scripting.
+ Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
+ Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
+ Solid understanding of RESTful services and API testing using Postman.
+ Familiarity with IBM Sterling MFT or similar secure file transfer solutions.
+ Experience with incident management tools like JIRA and on-call platforms like PagerDuty.
These will help you stand out
+ Experience automating operational processes using cloud-native tools.
+ Knowledge of synthetic monitoring tools like UpTrends.
+ Strong collaboration skills using Slack and other communication platforms.
+ Familiarity with Disaster Recovery best practices and Change Management compliance.
