Senior Azure Architect (Contract) - 100% remote, EST preferred
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Azure Architect for a contract engagement to support cloud architecture, modernization, and integration initiatives across enterprise platforms. This role will focus on designing and governing secure, scalable Azure solutions that support health insurance operations, digital member experiences, and data platforms while adhering to regulatory and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design and implement enterprise-grade Azure architectures supporting business and technology initiatives
+ Lead cloud modernization and migration efforts for legacy and on-prem platforms
+ Architect secure Azure solutions aligned with HIPAA, PHI, and security standards
+ Define and enforce Azure standards for networking, identity (Entra ID), security, and governance
+ Partner with application, data, and security teams to ensure architectural alignment
+ Design high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
+ Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM, or Terraform
+ Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes using Azure DevOps and GitHub
+ Participate in architecture reviews, technical design sessions, and governance forums
+ Provide hands-on architectural guidance to engineering and delivery teams
Required Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Azure architecture or senior cloud engineering
+ Ability to handle ADF implementations, ETL in Azure
+ Ability to converse and pilot Agentic frameworks (Langchain)
+ Migration of Boomi or other ETL tool to Azure
+ APIM experience preferred
+ Experience in python coding (intermediate or beginner)
+ Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, security)
+ Deep understanding of Azure identity, access management, and network security
+ Experience working in health insurance or regulated healthcare environments
+ Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and PHI protection
+ Experience designing scalable, highly available enterprise solutions
+ Ability to operate independently in a contract-based delivery role
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification
+ Experience integrating Azure with enterprise insurance platforms
+ Familiarity with claims, enrollment, provider, or member-facing systems
+ Experience supporting hybrid environments and cloud governance models
