    Role Objective:

    We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a long term government contract supporting the Department of Homeland Security. This position is the senior technical authority responsible for the availability, performance, and modernization of the enterprise network—directly enabling live law-enforcement training, secure facilities, and DHS enterprise connectivity.

    Responsibilities:

    + Lead enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and transport network operations across FLETC HQ and TDPs as well as leading the network modernization initiatives focused on reliability and security.

    + Prioritize and resolve outages and performance degradation in a mission-critical environment.

    + Design and modernize network architectures aligned with DHS OneNet and DHS Data Centers.

    + Serve as technical lead for ICCB change packages, ensuring coordinated, low-risk rollouts.

    + Coordinate with systems engineers, vendors, cloud teams, and DHS network authorities.

    + Support cloud connectivity and migration strategies without service disruption.

    + Mentor and lead network engineering staff.

    + Act as senior technical authority for LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN environments.

    + Design and implement operational network systems.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

    + Coordinate implementation across local teams, OneNet, and Data Center organizations.

    + Collaborate across network, compute, data center, and enterprise support teams.

    Job Requirements:

    + 5+ years in network engineering (within last 7 years).

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

    + Expert in routing and switching.

    + Experience with firewall technologies.

    + Experience with SD-WAN.

    + Experience with BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.

    + Cloud networking experience in AWS and Azure.

    + Experience coordinating with ICCB, DHS OneNet, and Data Center teams preferred

    + Proven experience prioritizing outages, projects, and operational tasks

    + Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure.
