Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems at customer sites. This role is highly hands-on and customer-facing, requiring strong technical aptitude, flexibility, and a willingness to travel. The Field Service Technician plays a key role in ensuring system performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term service partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide on-site support at customer locations to diagnose, repair, and commission hydraulic and electro-hydraulic components and systems.
+ Troubleshoot customer machinery and system performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
+ Develop specialized knowledge of industrial hydraulic and electro-hydraulic machinery and apply this expertise to meet customer requirements.
+ Utilize computerized hydraulic diagnostic tools to verify system functionality and control performance.
+ Support system testing, commissioning, and validation both in-house and at customer sites.
+ Proactively address and resolve complex customer issues and service-related concerns.
+ Identify and communicate potential service opportunities or new business needs observed at customer sites.
+ Collaborate with Field Service, Inside Service, and other internal teams to ensure effective communication and coordinated customer support.
+ Provide shop floor support during peak demand periods, as needed.
+ Prepare detailed field service reports, including work performed, materials used, labor hours, and expenses.
+ Support other technicians remotely or on-site to ensure timely issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
+ Associate’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field from an accredited program **OR** High School diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hydraulic/electronic service shop or field service environment.
+ Experience supporting internal and external customers by addressing technical questions, concerns, and service issues.
+ Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 50–60% of the year, often with minimal advance notice.
+ Strong interest in learning and applying fluid power technologies, including pumps, motors, proportional and servo valves, and logic valves.
+ Willingness to learn and work with industrial hydraulic electronic controllers (e.g., HNC, HPC, HACD).
+ Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications; ability to install and utilize controller-specific software as required.
+ Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of senior Field Service Technicians.
+ Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet customer and project requirements.
